To my understanding this firearm is the non threaded version of the line so it's legal in Illinois, but according to the restrictions stated here at bud's under the state of Illinois, the gsg brand of rimfire firearms are illegal, is that correct? Just want to make sure before making a purchase.

Hi Walter, unfortunately that is correct. The receiver body of the pistol is cast Zinc #Z410 (Zamak), which does not meet the melting point laws. 
Prohibited: Any handgun having a barrel, slide, frame or receiver that has a die casting of zinc
alloy or any other non-homogenous metal, which will melt or deform at a temperature of 800
degrees F or less.
