In keeping with the tactical .22 theme, the GSG-16 features a faux suppressor that serves as the barrel shroud. A real suppressor would be cool, but at least a fake one makes it look cool. It also screws off if you don't like it (but who does that?) to reveal a cold forged barrel robust enough to serve a long life of steady use, a terrific example of fine German engineering.

No it is not threaded the "Faux suppressor" is not removable

Jason if the suppressor screwed off it would become a NFA SBR and require a tax stamp the Suppressor is Permantly affixed to make the barre 16 ,25 inches

Hi Randy and welcome. No Sir. The fake can on the 16" versions is held in place by a set screw at it's base. Either way though, the 16" barrel itself is not threaded. Cheers and stay safe!

Hi Randy, no sir the barrel is not threaded. The faux suppressor is held on with set screws, so you can remove it, but you cannot put a real suppressor. The barrel is still 16.25" after faux suppressor is removed. Stay safe & have a great day!
