Christopher, According to buds description yes it's functional. It's definitely seen better days but wouldn't be a bad beat around firearm. Wouldn't have to worry about scratching it up. As Edward stated would definitely help seeing it in person. Unfortunately only way to do so would be to purchase the firearm. Then when it arrives at your FFL dealer for pickup thoroughly inspect the firearm before doing any paperwork. If you find any issues just deny the transfer and the FFL dealer will ship it back to buds, no charge to you and you'll be refunded. Once a firearm is transferred into your name it's officially yours and cannot be returned. Hope this helps.
