Mark, this has a manual tang safety. Reading the owners manual, I don't think it resets by itself. For unloading, it reads "Move the safety button fully rearward to the "ON" (SAFE) position. Open the firearm. The extractor will position live or spent cartridges for removal by hand." So it doesn't specifically state one way or the other, why would you have to manually move it first if it automatically reset?
