I currently carry the XDs-.45 compact which I love but I'm wanting to try something with more fire power as oppose to the 7 round max that I currently have. I can adjust from .45 to 9mm. I like the Springfield but in the event that I ever had to use it I don't want to worry about a seven shot as oppose to 14+.

When loaded this would be at least 8 ounces heavier than the XD-s if weight is a significant concern. 
The Hellcat or Hellcat Pro may be another option which are both narrower and lighter than the XD-M Elite, though generally at a higher price point.

It will be heavier I would rather have 7 rounds of 45 in a carry gun
