Hi Peter and welcome. Unfortunately no Sir as a Destructive Device (not Shotgun) with a projectile over 60 Caliber. 12ga is .729 --- evannappen.com/is-the-mossberg-590-shockwave-legal-in-new-jersey/#:~:text=This%20is%20in%20the%20statute,2C%3A39%2D3a.
Hi Pete, since this has an 18.5" barrel, it is considered a shotgun and, much to the dismay of Dictator Murphy, is perfectly legal in NJ. (It is not a destructive device as stated in the answer below. That would be the Shockwave with the 14" barrel, which is also NJ legal. I am a NJ resident and well versed on NJ gun law.) Evan Nappen (in the link below) does not know what he is talking about when he says the Shockwave is not NJ legal. They are sold in gun shops all across the state and I happen to have one. The only thing you need to purchase this is your FID (Firearms ID) card. If you do not have one, you need to apply to your local police dept. You do not need to send Bud's a copy, you will need it at your FFL when you pick the gun up. Just put the it in your cart and check out. You will choose a FFL at checkout to have the gun shipped to. Stay safe & have a great day!
it is a shotgun and the way i read it says it is legal "he following are prohibited: ✘ A semi-automatic shotgun with either a magazine capacity exceeding six rounds, a folding stock or a pistol grip." however it would depend on if the stock is considered a 'pistol grip' I suggest that you as a local ffl holder to be sure
Personally, I'd listen to Ed below. If you're still unsure, Just go to your local FFL & double check.
