I recently purchased from Bud's a Mossberg MMR 223 16 30R rifle. Invoice says .223, but stamped on the gun, and on the clip says 5.56. I have read about the different pressures between the 2 kinds of ammunition, and I want to know is this rifle actually safe firing the 5.56, and if there might be some brand of the 5.56 to avoid.

You are safe to fire any factory 5.56 or 223 loads from the MMR Ray. This is a 5.56 rated rifle. Have fun!
