Hi Jeremy and welcome. The forend is aluminum. I own an Anderson AR-10 and two AR-15's and can vouch for their quality. I chose the RF-85 models. Cheers and happy holidays!

Anderson is definitely one of the better known brands in terms of quality & performance. My local FFL sells nothing but Anderson lowers along with complete units.
