Not if you are talking about the pistol grip on an AR David.
this is a forearm pistol grip and will attach to a rail on the forearm if you have a rounded (non railed forearm) you would have to replace the forearm to install this It would help if we knew what you were trying to mount it on
You will not have to remove the grip installed. This UTG hand guard grip fits in front of the magazine well as pictured here : https://www.combathunting.com/img-UTG_5_Combat_Quality_QD_Lever_Mount_Metal_.gif
Hi David, No you do not need to remove the grip
It will not fit the round forearm on my S&W M&P 15 sport 2 there is no where for it to clamp you would have to add a rail or change forearm to a one with a rail under it
