the remington page shows it with a stainless bolt https://www.remarms.com/rifles/bolt-action/model-700/model-700-sps-tactical-threaded while most online retailers show it with the black bolt so i suggest contacting Rem Arms at 844-REMARMS (844-736-2767) M-F from 9AM to 5PM ET to get a accurate answer I suspect it may have been black before Rem Arms replaced remington and stainless after or the other way around
