Hi Glen, the item itself isn't illegal, it all depends on what you are putting it on. If you are putting it on a semi-auto rifle, the answer is no. I disagree with James' answer. Folding or Telescoping Stocks are not prohibited in CA, it depends on what they are on. In the previous question posted by Glenn, James says telescoping stocks are legal. Granted, 95% possibility it's a no go for the intended use, but to say it's totally prohibited is not correct. Maybe he is putting it on a rifle with a fixed magazine, that would be legal. My original answer should have said 'semi-auto rifle with detachable magazine'.
