no it is not CA legal Pistol-grip firearms expelling a shotgun shell that are 26" or longer in overall length, but with smooth-bore barrels shorter than 18" in length are not being transferred by California FFLs. Regardless whether pump-action or semi-automatic, this category includes the Mossberg Shockwave, Remington Tac-14, Emperor Arms Duke / Mogul series, Charles Daly Honcho, RIA VRF14 and the like. https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/california_restrictions.pdf
Hi Timothy and welcome. Unfortunately no Sir. The Remington TAC14 has a 14" smoothbore barrel length making it a firearm that is considered to be an unsafe handgun that is also an illegal SBS and illegal unconventional pistol under CA laws. In order to be CA legal, it must have a minimum 18" barrel length and a minimum 26" overall length. Or an AOW. Cheers and stay safe!
