the big boy weighs around 7.5 lbs depending on Brass or steel (357), The marlin 6.2 lbs and the rossi 5.6 lb. The henry is a much higher quality firearm that will last you a lifetime the henry is smoother to operate and has better fit and finish. I expect the ruger to be a super high quality also (now that they are owned by Ruger) I have not yet had a chance to handle a Ruger made Marlin
