Just threaded with a crush washer for timing and tension. A 3/4" or 19mm wrench should be all you need to remove it. Pinning/welding muzzle devices is generally reserved for 14.5" barrels where a permanent muzzle device brings the length up to beyond 16".

Hi Chris and welcome. Threaded on. This rifle has a 16" Chrome Lined M4 Profile Barrel with a 1:7" Twist Rate threaded 1/2x28. Cheers and enjoy!
