I think this would be a great hunting rifle, but I also like shooting targets in relatively quick succession. How does this barrel do with multiple shots (20-40+) down range? Pencil barrels can heat up after just a few shots, negatively impacting accuracy and sometimes barrel longevity. Thanks.

Hi Matthew and welcome. This rifle has a 18" Hammer Forged Barrel with Sporter Contour and 1:12" Twist rate. It will do relatively well with reasonable time between shots. Consistent, sustained fire will heat up the barrel and groups will string. That's just the nature of the beast with thin barrels as you already know. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
