Hi Roy and welcome. Yes Sir they are just as well built as earlier generations. Ruger has never dropped the ball on their 10/22 line of firearms. It's the reason the 10/22 is an industry standard 22LR rifle series. Cheers, enjoy and stay safe!

Mine is about 10 yrs old. Never any problems. Shoots as well as those I shot 40 years ago.

Roy, from what I read Ruger hasn't dropped the ball. Infact most people's experience has been newer ones are better. Really only difference I know of is, the trigger housing on the older rifles used a metal trigger housing, where as the new one's are plastic. They said the old ones were made of pot metal and the new polymer ones are actually more resilient. For accuracy and reliability there really hasn't been any change. The only thing better about the older versions is fit and finish were slightly better but that's the case with most old vs new. So you should be just as happy with a new one as you are with your old one. If interested here's a link to a cheapish upgraded drop in trigger for a 10/22 Wich is a huge improvement. I usually swap out triggers on any new rifle.
