Hi Rick, any red dot that will attach to a picatinny rail will work, such as the Sig Romeo5 https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/6997/sig+sauer+electro-optics+sor52001+romeo5+1x+20mm+obj+unlimited+eye+relief+2+moa , Yes, you can legally install a vertical grip on your AR15, it is a rifle designed to be fired with 2 hands, adding a vertical does not change that. As to which type, depends on your handguard. It should have either M-Lok or picatinny rail on the 6 o'clock position. Just get the appropriate grip. There are also M-Lok to picatinny adapters if need to mount your grip. Good luck, stay safe, & have a great day!
