yes the do it will extend below the grip. with it being made by Promag I would not trust it for carry without a lot of range time I have had horrible experiences with Promag reliability https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/714025802/promag+s%26w+shield+45acp+10rd+blue+st
