Hi Mike and welcome. Factory reconditioned means it went back to the original equipment manufacturer (GLOCK) to be tested and - if necessary - repaired. In the case of a repair, they typically replace parts. As such, the unit will often look and function as if new. Further, factory reconditioned units usually have a manufacturer warranty. The "reconditioned " guns are guns returned to glock after being used by someone. In some cases police agencies, pistols used for testing and evaluation, perhaps sample pistols used for other demonstrations or possibly even guns used in armorers classes. A gun they can not sell as new, so they replace all the springs and inspect the pistol and sell as factory reconditioned

Hi Mike, Once a firearm is returned to Glock for a rebuild, Glock replaces any worn parts, refinishes the metal parts and lists the firearm as a "rebuild." Once complete with a new finish and new parts, the firearms are sold at a discount as rebuilds, designated by Glock's orange label. When you purchase a factory refurbished model, you are basically getting a brand-new firearm with its full life in front of it.
