Pioneer Arms is known for making inexpensive AKs. Part of that lower price has to do with their cast trunnions. However, they build a lot of full-auto guns for militaries, and use the exact same cast trunnions in those guns. Over time, the quality and the features of these rifles evolved to the present state of high quality at a moderate price. The Pioneer Arms Classic features an upgraded pistol grip. The Classic model is a conventional, stamped receiver AKM without a side rail.
