These are "dead even" rifles in reviews and performance. I would personally choose the Smith simply because I have many, many Smith and Wesson firearms and Customer Service has been A1.
I love my Rugers but for some reason I bought a S&W M&P 15 sport II ( probably because I also had a 15/22) and I could not be happier. I think you will be happy with either gun
