Yes, a .30 caliber bore diameter uses .308"/7.62mm diameter bullets and the groove diameter of .30 caliber barrels is 0.308 inches. Also, being a lightweight suppressor, heat buildup can be an issue if you are rapid firing multiple 25-round magazines, for example, out of a semi-automatic rifle. You would really have to work hard to intentionally overheat this to the point of damage using a bolt action.

Bullets for 7.62/39 are 311 and are cannelured 308 would be smaller. You can use 308 but would hurt accuracy. Hope this helps.
