Hi Jacob, this gun is rated for .223 only, this is an error in the listing. . There are some rifles rated for 5.56/.223 For a gun rated for 5.56/.223 - The same magazine hold both .223 and 5.56. A rifle rated for 5.56 can shoot both 5.56 and .223. A rifle rated for .223 can not safely fire the higher pressures of 5.56. The 223 Remington and 5.56 NATO cartridges have identical case dimensions but are not completely interchangeable. Stay safe & have a great day!

Hi Jacob and welcome. This Rifle's barrel is stamped .223REM so you should not fire 5.56NATO ammunition due to it's higher pressure. Also, .223 and 5.56 use the same magazines. Buds listing has been corrected. Cheers and stay safe!

This model is clambered for .223 ONLY. You cannot shoot 5.56 through it due the the higher pressure of the 5.56 round.
