Hi Timothy and welcome. Nothing. Carbon is just the name Diamondback uses for this model. This Diamondback DB15 rifle features a carbine-length, medium 4150 ChromeMoly barrel, Carbine-length gas system with pinned gas block, and a shot-peened Mil-Spec 8620 bolt carrier. The DB15 utilizes 7075-T6 aluminum receivers, 15" M-Lok anti-rotation handguard, Magpul MOE grip, and a Magpul Carbine stock. Cheers and stay safe!

Hi Tim, the barrel is 4150 CrMov (Chrome Moly Vanadium). The "50" in 4150 steel is an indicator that the barrel steel has a carbon content near .50% (Don't mis-read that, it is not 50%, but one half of 1%) Carbon is what Diamondback has decided to call this series of rifles.
