The Maverick 88 and Mossberg 500 are the same gun made by the same people. Parts should be compatible. I own both but haven't modified my 88 yet.

Yes that forearm will fit a Maverick model 88. The maverick model 88 is made by Mossberg and is basically a cheaper version of the Mossberg 500. Therefore most of the parts and all the major parts of the gun will interchanger will the Mossberg 500.
