It's most likely listed that way because .223 numerically comes before 5.56, that's all. But yes, you can shoot both, even if listing Only said 5.56. Now if it stated Only chambered for .223 then no for shooting the higher pressure 5.56 rounds.
Kevin, yes sir, this is chambered in 5.56 NATO. So it's perfectly safe to fire both 223 rem and 5.56. the model number of this is "ATIGOMX556ML13P3", the 556 in the middle refers to it's chambering. Perfectly safe to fire 223 in a firearm chambered in 5.56, you just can't shoot 5.56 out of a firearm chambered in 223 because 5.56 has a higher chamber pressure. Hope this helps.
Hi Kevin and welcome. The barrel is stamped 5.56NATO so it can fire both 5.56 and .223 no issue. A barrel stamped .223REM would only be recommended to fire .223 and not the higher pressure 5.56. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
