I would look seriously at the 870 with the Cantilever barrel (Scope mounts on a extension over the receiver off the barrel) the scope would stay with the barrel and its better if you ever want to add standard shotgun barrel (no scope on the receiver and no need to re-sight in the scoped barrel ) link https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/95090/Remington+870+Express+Slug+12g+23+Cantilever+Syn

Hi Grant, No this isn't drilled or tapped.

I have an 870 supermag with a receiver mounted scope an recommend against it. The fit between the receiver and barrel can have a tiny bit of wobble which will cause groups to wander. The better system is to buy the barrel with the cantelever mount. That way, as long as the barrel is stable the bullet goes where the scope says it is going. It was a big deal on my gun and really made it shoot badly and only after a couple scope changes did I figure out it was the receiver mount. Just my 2 cents.
