Hi Tim, unless it has been sitting on the shelf for 10+ years, it is a Gen 2. The easiest way to tell is by the serial number, the Gen 1 had a hyphenated serial number, like 371-761234. No hyphen on Gen 2. Gen 1 does not have last round hold open. . Now, with that being said, I believe this Crimson Trace will fit your gun, unless you have an LCP II. On the CT web site, where it says "will not fit Gen II", I believe they mean it won't fit the LCP II, which is completely different from the LCP Gen 2. If you have the LCP II, it will not fit. I found another site which says " Ruger LCP model does not fit LCP II pistols" Stay safe & have a great day!
