Hi Pete, your vendor is mistaken on this. Factory standard 410 shotgun ammunition is just that. There is no handgun specific 410 ammunition that won't work in a standard 410 shotgun. It is simply optimized with a faster burning powder for the shorter barrel and will only exit the barrel of a standard shotgun slightly slower. Federal tactical shotgun loads that are classified as "low recoil" (lower velocity) have immensely tighter patterns in smooth bore shotguns.
