Cantilever

This particular scope mount is a cantilever style scope mount. It is made for lever actions and for the henry so that you can put a scope on your lever gun. It mounts to the receiver or the barrel just ahead of the receiver so that the scope isn't in the way of the shells ejecting. It also is standard 1 inch rings as well, so any standard scope will fit. Weaver, or Leupold

I have a Henry Golden Boy and Henry sells two types of mounts for this and several other lever models. One is a Picatinny rail and the other is for Weaver-type scope rings. Looking at the picture it appears to be a Weaver-type, cantilever rail. If you are not familiar with Picatinny rails just look at pictures of an AR-type rifle. Most have a Picatinny mount which has a series of slots, one right after another. A Weaver mount is usually an in-slotted (but not always) and is sort of V-shaped. Once you determine the type of mount you can find scope rings that are compatible for that mount. Also insure the scope rings are correct diameter for the scope. The majority of scope are one inch in diameter although there are 7/8" (for 22 cal) and some that are larger on high-end, long range scopes. Again, from the picture it appears to be a Weaver type mount. It doesn't matter if the mount is cantilever or not, only the type of rings it can accept.
