So when you dry fire you pistol the trigger does not reset unless you rack the slide that is normal. When you fire a pistol with rounds in the magazine the slide racks back itself which resets the trigger.

What you've described is normal.
This pistol operates on a blowback system, you fire a live round and the pressure from round being discharged moves the slide back whilst ejecting the spent cartridge & then chambering the next round.
When you dry fire there are no live rounds to create the blowback pressure to move the slide to the rear and eject/chamber a round. When dry firing, you must pull the trigger. Then manually pull slide back to reset the trigger. This will need to be done with no magazine inserted. If there is an empty magazine present, when you rack the slide to reset it will hold open like it would were you firing live rounds and then hold open once the last round is fired. So to avoid that while dry firing leave magazine out.

Hi Duane and welcome. This is normal operation for a Single Action Handgun. The slide must be cycled before the trigger will reset by hand. When you are shooting live ammunition, the ammunition does this automatically. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
