It was never discontinued. It is still produced in Switzerland by SIG-Sauer AG, the Swiss branch of the company, aka Swiss Arms. Due to import restrictions in the US, receivers and a few other parts were imported from Switzerland and assembled using US-made parts for the remainder.

Hi Michael, the P238 is not discontinued. There are import issues with required parts currently to allow import into the US. This has caused a shortage of available P238 models in the US. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
