2 totally separate firearms. The 2022 is like a glock as it is made of Polymer. I love this model personally!. The 229 stainless steel frame & slide. Normally this sales for over %700 new. So its a steal.

I want to throw this out there too. The 2022 is known as the poor mans Sig Sauer. For the money I would go with the P229 just for the savings. They both shoot very accurately.

The Pre-Owned are the famous "SIG RED BOX" metal framed guns. They are trade-ins and an occasional Blemished gun. The SIG Sauer SP2022 Semi Auto Handgun is the latest polymer version of their popular metal framed pistol. So metal frame or polymer frame for you is the million dollar question.

The used P229 is a Sig "Red Box" which is a certified preowned (CPO) gun they are steel framed Sig P229s that have been returned to Sig where they have been gone through and worn parts replace 2 new magazines and the gun are then sent out in a Red plastic case with a 1 year warranty (most are police trade ins) Please note that the specific model/features of the P 229 is not guaranteed IE rail or no rail version . The 2022 is a polymer version which will be new and of the specific model you order I like the Red boxes but many people would rather have a "new" gun
