I am sorry that my question about the battery was confusing. I know that the Holosun has a rechargeable battery; that is a given. My real question was about the possibility of a non-rechargeable one, or, much more accurately, my that, because my EDC or home defense gun won't likely get much exposure to the sun, or even much room light, I am concerned that using only the solar charging of the rechargeable battery won't necessarily yield enough charge to always use the Holosun whenever I need it.

Hi David and welcome. It is a 20,000 Hour battery. The solar charging just keeps it topped off. It will give the same lifetime as a standard non chargeable battery. Over 2 years of operation. Cheers and stay safe!

When operating a dot reticle, the duration is 50,000 hours and when operating the circle dot reticle 20,000 hours (at brightness level 6).
