Hi Raymond, you are correct, a shotgun chambered for 3" shells will fire both 2 3/4" and 3" shells. Stay safe & have a great day!

Hi Raymond and welcome. Yes Sir. Same concept as a .357 Magnum being able to fire the shorter .38 Special. A particular length chamber can fire that length or shorter shells. Cheers and stay safe!
