There is a lot to consider to safely answer this question. Had you been shooting. 38 prior to trying the .357 ammo? This can leave carbon that will make it hard to fully insert the longer .357 ammo. Is the ammo sticking out the front of the chamber, rear of the chamber (shallow or fouled chamber), or not fitting at all due to thickness? Would need to first know what way it doesn't fit to diagnose further. Might be worth showing to a local dealer or qualified gunsmith. Best wishes!
