Absolutely Joseph. The 300 Winchester Magnum is a proven "Moose and Elk" Cartridge. It is one of the all time favorites for just this purpose.

I used a 300 win mag for the majority of my hunting career and it does a fine job on everything from deer and antelope to elk and moose. Killed hundreds of deer and elk with it. The only drawback is the muzzle brake which, if you shoot lot's in the field with no ear protection, will make you deaf. When I guided we hated to see anyone show up with a magnum with a muzzle brake because after years of exposure many of us had tinnitus.
