I am looking to obtain a 45 LC lever action. I had settled on the Marlin until i came across Taylor and Co (Chiappa Import), Alaska Takedown in 16in. Researching Chiappa there are mixed reviews, but Anyone have any experience with the Taylor and Co version?

I am looking to obtain a 45 LC lever action.  I had settled on the Marlin until i came across Taylor and Co (Chiappa Import), Alaska Takedown in 16in.  Researching Chiappa there are mixed reviews, but Anyone have any experience with the Taylor and Co version?

I would go with the Marlin, Henry, or even the Rossi before the Chiappa.  Chiappa imports has  mixed reviews on handling guns that have issues If you go with the Chiappa I would get the buds warranty on it

Then Henrys have been pretty popular lately but I'd stick with the Marlin above all.

I would put the Henry as the highest quality of the lever actions (for a working gun not a safe queen)

Marlin will be your best bet here since it is a tested and proven platform Grant. No surprises with Marlin.
