Yes this is a good choice just try to find some low recoil rounds.

This shotgun is a proven performer and is high quality. You should also look into some of the newer decelerator for the butt stock that will cut felt recoil down tremendously.

The only problem is the fact that it is a trap gun and you will have to "float" sporting clays targets to be able to hit them. I once had a similiar situation, shooting clays or hunting in ice cold weather you might want to look at a Benelli. Had shoulder trouble and needed a softer recoil, the SBE with the comfort Tech stock is awesome!! No Jams ever either!!
