Look into the S&W M&P Shield EZ in either .380 or 9mm. This firearm has a light spring making for an extremely easy slide rack & easy recoil when shooting. My wife has slight arthritis and went with the .380 model and loves it! Sidenote, she tried revolvers thinking that would be easier, nope, she found the trigger pull too much. Even cocking the hammer was trying.

All good semi-auto handguns. Find a store that has them and see if you can work the slide without issue. My father went with a revolver due to similar issues that you have.
Hi Mona and welcome. Out of the firearms mentioned, the Springfield Armory Hellcat would be my choice for the situation you describe. 2nd would be the Ruger Max 9. These two have easier racking slides and lighter trigger pull weights. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
I woul go to a local range and rent as many different guns as you can that being said athe S&W EZ rack guns should fit the bill
