Hi Ronald, according to Henry, you should not use any ammo over 260 grains. According to Henry - "Big Boys chambered for .45LC can handle standard and +P factory loads, with standard profile bullets (round-nose, flat-nose, and hollow-point), up a maximum projectile weight of 260-grains. Our rifles are not designed to handle over-260 gr. bullets; feeding/jamming, premature wear and failures could result." Stay safe & have a great day!

Hi Ronald and welcome. Yes Sir. The Henry Big Boy receiver is composed of a special material that is chill cast, heat treated and machined in such a way as to have the same tensile and yield strength as steel. There are no issues whatsoever as far as the durability and its ability to withstand high pressure rounds such as those made by CorBon, Buffalo Bore and others. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
