yes the less powerful 38 special can be shot in the 357 just watch for a carbon buildup/ring in the cylinder after lots of 38 specials. this ring can make it difficult to insert 375 ammo regular cleaning of the cylinder will stop/correct this issue
Hi Robert and welcome. Yes Sir. Any .357 Magnum revolver can fir the shorter less powerful .38 Special and .38 Special +P ammunition no issue. Tidbit: if shooting a fair amount of .38 Special, a carbon ring will build up at the end of the cylinder due to the shorter case and then the longer .357 Magnum cases will begin to stick when inserting/ejecting. Just ream the cylinders with a bore brush after shooting .38 Special if you plan on shooting .357 Mag in the same session. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
