Hi Rick, no sir, the 590 has a plastic trigger guard, only the 590A1 models are metal. Stay safe & have a Happy 4th!

Hi Rick and welcome. The 590A1 is the only one that comes with a metal trigger assembly due to Navy shipboard requirements. Over the years I've never seen a 500/590 trigger guard broken. Cheers and stay safe!

This model does not have the metal Trigger assembly. The 590A1 is the only model to have the metal Trigger assembly.
