Hi Linda and welcome. Concealment is the only advantage. A 3 inch will yield higher velocity and energy using the same ammunition. Depending on the load, this can be 40 to 60fps or more faster. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

Shorter barrels will be less accurate and have more recoil but easier to conceal longer barrels will give you a little more power and accuracy from the cartridge and less recoil but harder to conceal the longer the barrel gets
