OK I found it they are the same product the clamshell is the packaging its packaged in a plastic clamshell for a display (like at Walmart ) the standard is shipped in a box https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhtEiIe6x2c

The "Clamshell" is just the plastic packaging that the item is packaged in. Other then the packaging there is no difference.
