.30 caliber or 0.3 inches is equivalent to 7.62 millimeters. The 51 in 7.62x51mm is the length of the complete cartridge, but these are just bullets not complete cartridges.

Hi Josh and welcome. 30 = the bullet diameter. These are component bullets for reloading and not live shootable ammunition. These are 7.62 x 51 / .308 bullets. Cheers and stay safe!
