Hi Mike, the original Wrangler does not meet melting point laws. The new Super Wrangler does, from what I'm reading. budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/155722/ruger+super+wrnglr+.22+lr+5.5+6+round+black , I would check with your local FFL to be sure. Ruger's reply, when asked about the legality of the Super Wrangler in MN, was - "The new Super Wrangler's frame is made of steel, the original Wrangler is made of aluminum, therefore the Super Wrangler is available in MN." Stay safe & have a great day!

Hi Mike and welcome. Unfortunately, it is aluminum alloy as you suspected. Cheers and stay safe!
