Hi Richard and welcome back. Yes, uncaptured guide rod. Seems many manufactures are trying to save a few dollars on magazines. Rock Island Armory is famous for supplying only one magazine for the majority of their firearms. Cheers and stay safe!

Hi Richard, the CA model comes with the uncaptured guide rod, as opposed to the other p22s , that come with the factory captured guide rod assembly. Walther can't change the originally approved CA pistol. Why only 1 magazine? That is something you would need to ask Walther. Stay safe & have a great day!
