Hi Gavin, The attachment point is the same, but the 20 gauge receiver is smaller then a 12 gauge receiver. A 12 gauge buttstock will overhang a 20 gauge receiver. If you don't care about looks, it will bolt up tightly and function just fine. Stay safe & have a great day!
