You won't get what you think from +P in this short a barrel. +P is a trade off in a less than 4-inch barrel. +P rounds are designed to completely burn the extra powder in 4 plus inches of barrel. You will not get the rated velocity increase you would think from this 3-inch barrel. More muzzle flash/ blast from the unburnt powder and only 50% the muzzle velocity increase compared to a 4 plus inch barrel. A quality standard pressure round will give faster and more accurate follow up shots, less muzzle flash/blast which will save your night sight and hearing more in a nighttime scenario of self-defense.
